When Casa girls meet..

Assalamualaikum.

I finished my finals on April 25th at 9pm.I went to Trisha's and then went back home.Seriously, I felt like punching someone after my Econ paper.Really.Anyways, I slept like a baby and when i woke up in the morning, I curled in bed watching TV shows that I missed for the past two weeks or so.I knew that Munie and Amal is going to come later that day but I just can't get my butt out of bed.Not until I got a text from Munie saying they'll be arriving in two hours.OH BOY I PANICKED!

I'm sure you know how messy your apartment can be during exam times. The laundry and dishes neglected.Kalau da bertunang boleh cancel if bakal mertua datang. It's THAT bad.SO I scrambled out of bed,put music on, and get cleaning going.Put on my lavender scented oil burning,I stashed, organized and vacuumed.I should have showered earlier and leave right away for the bust station but me being me,can't decide what to wear,I was late.Teehee.

Not only that,I got lost at Berri-UQAM metro station too.I've been there for at least a dozen times!Sofhan,Sofhan.I went out through the St-Denis exit instead of the bus station exit.=.=' My dearest Munie and Amal were kindly waiting for me as I huffed and puffed.Jogathon gitu in my skirt and all.

Amal,Munie and I go wayy back to the Taylor's College days. Munie was my housemate, who turns out to be the daughter of my mum's friend during her university times in Iowa. A bit like Sisterhood of Travelling Pants. =p
From the first day, she was the nicest, kindest, happiest, cuddliest human being I've ever met. With her winning smile, edgy sense of style,I LOVE EVERY INCH OF HER!EVERY INCH!
MeeeMaaaMoooo
Amal was our unofficial housemate. One day I saw her lepaking in our 0708 living room. The next day I saw her again. And let’s just say our living room became her bedroom. Complete with her cow pillow and blanket. She has her own shelve in our kitchen cabinet and what not. She only goes back to her apartment to shower and change. Other times, she's ours. Amal is my adorable innocent gangster. There's a bit of tomboy-ish sense in her style of clothing and oh! She's the funny one in our group! FUNN-EH! She makes up all of these weird combination of words to describe things.
One joke that I simply love is, "Mat Salleh ni zombie pun takut,if nampak hantu Malaysia, lari tak cukup tanah!".This joke had me smiling on my own on my way to the exam halls.Amal..amal..

This is my cutie pie Amal

When I tell my friend that I used to share an apartment with 6 other girls, she was shocked. Well, that doesn't include our unofficial housemates and guests that comes everyday. Someone told me that I'm lucky to have these girls as my housemates because although we have to wait for the bathroom, and our apartment can be messy from our Calculus Project and whatever projects that the Engineering students had to do (sorry Ainaa!) but we managed. In fact, our friendship was that strong that until today, all of us STILL try to get in contact with each other despite being in different parts of the world. Most students decide on a university where a lot of their friends are planning to go there too. For us, we all chose what our hearts want. It may be hard at first, we all suffered from the lack of love and friends and what not for the first year, but to be honest, we all had our own goals and dreams, even if that takes us away from our friends, it'll only be for four years, plus, there's skype and facebook and whatever kind of methods to get in touch with each other.

Well, they are my girls, my Casa Girls they say..sounds a bit wrong to me, but as long as we’re happy!

Thursday April 26th:
So Amal and Munie came for the second time to Montreal last month.
We head back, rested a bit and head out to Tres Amigos. Whenever my friends come over to Montreal, I’d definitely bring them here. The food is DELISH, the ambiance is cool and funky, the waiters are efficient and hot. Haha! The last part is a plus I must say! What I realize is that,in the early evening,Tres Amigos music are less loud and finding a seat is not a problem. For the gazillion time, I ordered their Vanilla Prawn!
Oh the creaminess of the sauce on the rice and the giant prawns grille to perfection..Ohh la la! We were so hungry that we ate the nachos to the very bottom of the small basket. That's how hungry we were.
They have Virgin Pina Coladas too. It’s to die for. Really. To die for.

Then we went to the grocery store to pick up some food and walked back home along St Catherine. Yes, the shopping street. We stopped at a few stores and were surprised to learn that one of the cute small boutique near Guy area is owned by a Malaysian. Here I am saying to Amal.."Pakaian ini nampak murahan kan?” trying not to sound obnoxious in the store and suddenly the owner was like, “are you guys Malaysian? Me too.”So girls guys, speaking Malay in a foreign country sometimes doesn't help.;p
HAMBIK!

It was raining pretty hard then. I had a cute umbrella with me. Since it’s THAT cute, it can’t fit all three of us. =.=’

We went to the dollar store to get some supplies, the to American Apparel for Munie's gazillionth denim top, Urban Outfitters (because I didn't get to bring Munie there last time) and other few places where I simply can't find a dress that I like. I told myself I could treat myself to a new purse I saw at Urban Planet after my exams. That too was no longer there. I'm still using the purse I got as a door gift from my second cousin's wedding.

We were trying to find me a dress for an event the next Friday. But nope, the dress that I wanted was sold out. SOLD FREAKING OUT. Even the purse that I told myself that I could only get after my exams is over. Tak rezeki. I could save that money kan?

We went back and it was pretty cold. We all just lay there. We lighted my lanterns and just cuddled on the bed laughing and sharing some stories while waiting for the deliver guy to deliver my groceries. I’m such a princess! I always get my groceries delivered.(Nanti sakit badan xde siapa nak urut).
But after awhile we laid there saying nothing. Maybe we’re just too tired or maybe we run out of stories. Whatever it is, it feels so amazing, that when you have good company, you don’t need to say anything to make things perfect.=’)

Friday April 27th:
We woke up late and had Nasi Goreng and Baked Chicken for brunch.
We then decided to explore Little Italy. It was pretty cold that day. We did only a BIT of exploring. Went to Little Italy and BOOM!!!!found to thrift stores that I fell in love with! I love thrift stores!!

Then we went to the poutine place La Banquise.Which all of us ordered our own poutine AND onion rings.Only Munie could finish hers!Hah!!Thgat is he place where I first leaned to ea onion rings with honey.DELISH!

We then headed to Future Shop and got me a camera.:)

Later on that night, we made Young Tau Foo for supper.Yeay!(then mengadu gemuk!lol)=)

Saturday April 28th:
I really really really wanted to take them to Chez Cora and that morning I did! Apparently they have Chez Cora too at Munie’s place. Oh well. Most of the times I’ve been there, I’ve been ordering the same thing over and over again!!=P

The whole morning were spent on my floor making these babies. But turns out none of us are that into cupcakes. Don’t get me wrong. I love making cupcakes but I don’t really like eating them and so does Amal.

We then headed off to the Old Port. We had serious fun! At first we were just walking and enjoying the view. Whenever I’m in Old Port I like to go to Restaurant des Gouverneurs because their lunch set is always yummy and I love their service! They are always so nice and so helpful. I was telling my friend that we should try something else. Alhamdulillah. Rezeki bergolek2. We went to this French restaurant called Le Senatuer, where they have Halal lamb on their menu. Their service is flawless too. These are the kinds of places that you really don’t mind tipping: =)

At Le Senateur
Then we took our cameras out and had some serious photo shooting done!!It was dusk by then. With the old buildings and dim light, and oh, Amal being a professional we sure had a lot of fun. Do you know that she is the photographer for MSA in Windsor Uni? Yeppp. That’s my friend over there! SO so so proud of her!=)

What kind of a visit would it be without stopping at Juliette et Chocolat? There was a line when we got there but we ended up talking all the way inside. It’s amazing how easily I opened up to them. Things that I’m too embarrassed to share just simply came out from my mouth. We had a little tazkirah/spiritual talk along the way too.*so blessed*.By the end of the meal, we’re just toooooo tried and headed back home.

Sunday April 29th:
The day that Munie had to go back to Malysia.=(
That morning we had a picnic at the Old Port. I bought the baguette a few days back. BAD IDEA. It’s like eating a rock. Really. If its warmed it fine. Since we’re in the middle of the field with cold wind blowing on our faces, so no. Our bread was far from being warm! We had some strawberry soda too! I saw this picture on Tumblr and was totally inspired!:)

Strawberry Sodas!:)

Picnic!
After eating we went for some beaver’s tail.
Oh these are NOT beaver tails!:p
That evening we had to send Munie off. Two days later, Amal had to leave too.

Everytime, I’ll feel so blessed to have met these girls that could make me feel at home. Anytime. Alhamdulillah. May Allah bless us all with long-lasting friendship Dunia Akhirah!

This is a longgg post.

This is how crazy we can get.=)

P/s: Will do a review on each of the restaurants mentioned InsyaAllah!

Take care and love your friends, sisters, brothers around you. They are there for a reason!

Wasalam

Till then,Bonsoir,
Love,
Sofhan Hasni
